Junior to Senior Estimators wanted in St. Paul and Wainwright, Alberta locations.

RC Recruiting and Consulting Ltd. is currently looking for 2 Estimators for our retail client. The positions will be based out of our St. Paul and Wainwright, Alberta locations.


These positions will be suited to individuals who have some construction background/building experience in areas: Construction Sales, Project Sales, Construction Manager or a similar role. These roles are also open to individuals who are just starting out with some related experience looking to move into a more senior role.


Job Duties:

  • ordering product for building projects while practicing inventory control.

  • working w/team members to contribute to the overall success of the location.

  • preparing cost estimates for different types of projects - decks, fences, sheds, etc.

  • presenting estimates to customers, while answering questions.

  • recommending solutions to cost/construction issues to both customers/contractors.

  • maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.

  • ensuring compliance to all company policies/procedures/professional standards/applicable laws and regulations.

  • always being safety aware while contributing to building and sustaining the company safety culture.

  • Customer Focus/Communicate Effectively/Business Insights/Situational Adaptability.

Skillsets:

  • have a thorough knowledge of construction/building materials industry/products.

  • have thorough knowledge of cost estimating (ie. experience with estimating software (Selljax); ability to read blueprints, etc).

  • have great inter-personal skills, communication skills (both oral and written), Math skills, computer skills (MS Office Suite), multi-tasking skills, organization skills.

  • have the ability to adapt to all kinds of situations and personalities.

  • strong attention to details while providing excellent customer service.

  • be motivated to grow the business in the estimating and building materials business.

  • able to work rotating shifts which include days, evenings, weekends and stat holidays on a rotational basis.

  • current or previous retail experience is an asset.
